Plans, pricing, and page limits

AvoFax offers both monthly plans and one time lifetime plans, so you can choose what fits you.

The two tiers

Pro: built for everyday business faxing. Includes 250 pages per month.
Secure: built for healthcare and anyone who needs HIPAA compliance and a signed BAA. Includes a higher monthly page allowance.

How limits work

Usage is counted by pages, not by number of faxes. A ten page fax uses ten pages.
Both sent and received pages count toward your monthly allowance.
Faxes that fail are not counted.
Your monthly allowance resets each billing cycle. Referral bonus pages never expire.
Your account does not expire if you do not fax in a given month.

What happens to my number if AvoFax ever shut down?

This is a fair question to ask before you commit, and the short answer is that your number is always yours.

You own your number

AvoFax acts as the custodian of your fax number, similar to how a brokerage holds your stocks while you remain the owner. You keep full ownership at all times.

You can leave any time

Under FCC rules, you can port your number out to any other provider whenever you want. Porting in or out takes about 1 to 3 business days.

If AvoFax ever shut down

All records of your number are stored securely and can be ported in or out, so your number would never be stranded. To date, no AvoFax user has ever lost a number.

Security is built into AvoFax from end to end.

How your faxes are protected

Encrypted in transit and at rest. Your documents are encrypted while they are sent and while they are stored.
Per-user access. Each team member has their own login, so you control who can view and send faxes.
Audit logging. Activity is recorded, giving you a clear trail of who sent or viewed each fax.

HIPAA and your BAA

If you handle protected health information, the Secure plan adds HIPAA compliant faxing with a signed Business Associate Agreement. You sign the BAA in the app when you send your first fax, and a copy is saved under Legal Documents.

Your account

Turn on two-factor authentication and manage your security under Security settings.
You stay in control of your data and can manage it from your account.

Is AvoFax HIPAA compliant? BAA and Secure plans

Accepted Answer

Yes. AvoFax supports HIPAA compliant faxing on our Secure plans, and we provide a signed Business Associate Agreement (BAA).

What the Secure plans include for compliance

A signed BAA between you and AvoFax.
Encryption of your documents in storage.
Audit logging so you have a record of activity.

Which plan do I need?

If you send or receive protected health information, choose a Secure plan (the monthly Secure plan or the lifetime Community Secure plan). The Secure plans are the HIPAA ready tiers.
The Pro plans are great for general business faxing that does not involve protected health information.

How to sign your BAA (it takes about a minute):

When you go to send your first fax, you are prompted to review and sign the BAA right on the screen.
Review the agreement, add your signature, and you are done.
A signed copy is saved to your account under Legal Documents, where you can download it any time.
