How do I send a higher-resolution (Fine / HD) fax?

By default, faxes send at standard fax resolution (about 200 dpi). That is the universal fax standard and is perfect for most documents. If your document has small text, fine print, detailed forms, or grayscale scans, you can opt into a higher-resolution (Fine / HD) send for sharper output.

  • When you compose a fax, choose the higher-resolution / quality option before you send.
  • Higher resolution can take a little longer to transmit and uses the receiving machine's fine mode — most modern fax machines and services support it.
  • It is a per-fax choice, so you can use standard for everyday faxes and Fine for the ones that really need it.

If you cannot find the option, or your output still looks soft, send us the fax details and we will take a look.
