Why did my fax fail, and how do I fix it?

Most faxes go through on the first try. If one fails, here is how to fix it. First, the good news: faxes that fail are not counted toward your monthly pages.

Quick fixes

• Check the number. Make sure you entered a valid fax number (not a voice line) with the correct area code.
• Confirm the recipient can receive faxes. A fax cannot be delivered to a regular phone or an email address.
• Try again. Fax lines can be busy or briefly unavailable. Resend after a minute or two.
• Check your file. Send a clear PDF, Word document, or image. Very large files can take longer to go through.
• Refresh. If the app seems stuck, fully refresh the page once and resend.

Still not working?

Open your Sent faxes to see the status and any error message. If it keeps failing, contact us with the recipient number and we will look into it right away.
